Home Stewardship

Stewardship is ZCC’s backbone. While the Messiah calls us to discipleship, Yahweh calls us to stewardship. A steward is “a person who manages another person’s property or affairs.” Biblical stewardship recognizes that “God’s resources are to be deployed through God’s people to accomplish God’s mission.” First, God is the owner of everything, and that includes every part of our lives (Psalm 24:1). Second, our role as stewards is to God’s resources (Genesis 1:26; 1 Corinthians 4:1-2). Third, the goal of our stewardship is to accomplish God’s mission in the world (Matthew 28:19-20). Simply put, everything – from your backyard and bank account, material possessions and abilities, to your knowledge, skills, time, talent, energy, mind and body – are resources that you manage for God. You are an important member of God’s management team – stewardship. ZCC is always ready to give and willing to share.

WIDOW’S MITE

Widows Mite is ZCC’s premier stewardship ministry. It is anchored on pure and undefiled religion before God the Father as in James 1:27: “What God the Father considers to be pure and genuine religion is this: to take care of orphans and widows in their suffering and to keep oneself from being corrupted by the world (NLT).”

The mission of Widow’s Mite is to give and share its resources with orphans, widows and the destitute. The ministry of Widow’s Mite includes:

  1. Mitigating the plight of household orphans and assisting mainstream orphanages
  2. Supporting widows to earn sustainable livelihoods
  3. Feeding the hungry
  4. Providing shelter for the homeless poor
  5. Clothing the ill-clad
  6. Responding to disaster
  7. Proclaiming the Word of God among the destitute and oppressed
  8. Breaking the chain of injustice against the destitute and protecting the oppressed from exploitation
